Jebidiah Takes It Back

You all have probably heard these two selections, but I have been playing them both a ton recently. They both seem to pump me up for whatever reason - I listen to them on repeat before every time I go surfing. So with that said, I hope these two songs take you back.

The first is the Pixies doing "Where is my Mind" from 1988

The second isn't super old but it's Guster doing "One Man Wrecking Machine" from 2006

Jebidiah Likes Trevor Hall

This guy was introduced to me by a man who goes by the name of Caso. The more I listen to Trevor Hall, the more relaxed and peaceful I feel. It really is great stuff. His lyrics are amazing and the background instrumentals are a perfect match with his soft voice. I am really loving this music right now - Thank you Caso. I am going to include three songs that each show a different side of the artist. Tell me what you think, and as always...enjoy!

The Kings Due to Release New Album

The Kings of Leon are scheduled to release their new album, Come Around Sundown, on October 19. Speaking for myself, and I think I can speak for Hazy as well when I say that this is hugely exciting. I personally hope that the Kings of Leon go hard as always, but also bring something new to the table with this new album...here is a leak from the new album - it is both vintage Kings, and new Kings at the same time. The track is called Radioactive. Also a plus, the video is awesome! I hope you ENJOY!

Video of the Day

It feels like fall is coming on - colder nights, football, etc. This video should remind you that you can have a great time no matter what the weather...just "let the sun shine."

The Tillman Story

The long anticipated Boston arrival of The Tillman Story took place on Friday. The documentary was very interesting and I hope it comes to TV or DVD soon. I knew a lot about Pat's story going into it and the film was informative enough to enlighten me to the struggle of his family and the specific details of the military cover up and attempts to use Pat as a poster child for a war that Pat thought was "illegal as hell". Donald Rumsfeld and military Generals despicably hide the truth and dodged questions about Pat's death in a Congressional hearing. Pat's mother worked years to get this hearing and the majority of it was shown in the movie. Each high ranking official took turns dodging questions and leaving out specifics so that no conclusion could be reached. The head of military special ops took the fall for the whole thing despite the orders coming from much higher up. The most depressing part of the movie was after the hearing when all the politicians and military leaders stood up laughing and joking with one another directly in front of Pat's family. The film also focused on Pat's atheistic beliefs and the military's disgust at his lack of religious commitment. One of the most powerful moments was at Pat's funeral when he younger brother got up and delivered a short speech praising Pat as a champion and thanking everyone for their thoughts but that Pat was "fucking dead". I found that clip in an interview with Pat's father on AC360. The whole interview is long and the clip of his younger brother comes at about 7 minutes in. I recommend seeing this movie at some point.

Song of the Day
