Boston Bruins Playoff Fortune

I am giddy with anticipation for the second round of the NHL playoffs to start. The Bruins, who barely made the playoffs, got their second gift from the hockey gods last night. The top-seeded Capitals lost to the 8th seeded Canadians. After beating Buffalo, the B's are now matched up against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers are a very good team, but not nearly as their other potential opponent in the Pittsburgh Penguins. Back on New Years Day the Bruins beat the Flyers in one of the best games of the year at Fenway Park. I won't say anything to jinx it, but I feel like Squints about to get his first kiss from Wendy Peffercorn. Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. The Bruins have an excellent chance in the series and once your deep into the playoffs, anything can happen. Last year the Bruins were the number #1 seed and got knocked out in the second round. Funny how things work out. That's why they play the games. I was close to chalking up the season as a loss when game after game Tim Thomas let his team down. Now Tuukka Rask is the heart of the team and we are only going to get stronger. Marc Savard is back and Mark Stuart and Dennis Siedenburg should be back soon. 12:30 Saturday at the TD Garden. TUUKKA.
