Jebediah's Favorite 90's Films: '93

1993The Best: Schindler’s List – This was an incredible year in film, but Schindler’s List takes the top spot because is one of the most touching, upsetting, and thought-provoking films ever made. The film details the life and business of a German business man, Liam Neeson, during the Holocaust. Neeson’s character is a German man who has sympathy for the Jewish population, and thus saves the lives of thousands of Jews by allowing them to work at his factory rather than the death camps. The development of Neeson’s character, Oscar Schindler, and his friendship with the Jews is gripping and heart wrenching. Again the Academy made good decisions, awarding Schindler’s List 7 Academy Awards.

Other Notables: Philadelphia, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Fugitive, The Firm, Sleepless in Seattle, The Pelican Brief
