I heard of this film courtesy of a NetFlix recommendation. Tom Cruise is graduating law school and is sought after by the top firms in the nation. One firm's offer trumps all the others and he signs onto a small family style firm in Memphis. It doesn't take him long to realize that the associates and partners are all part of a massive conspiracy. The firm and its employees encourage a Stepford wives existence and promote stability through restricting the independent thought and decision making ability of the associates. They want everyone to be dependent on the firm. Tom Cruise swims against the current and tricks the firm and FBI agents into freeing his brother and saving his marriage. Good film, despite being 2.5 hours, based on the John Grisham novel which I imagine is great. The film reminds me of certain elements of Gatsby, American Psycho, and The Devil's Advocate.
