1997 – The Best: Good Will Hunting – This goues well with GC's latest post, and just shows how great Matt Damon has become. Again, I will probably get some grief for picking this film over other more notable films, but this movie will honestly change the way you see your own life. Good Will Hunting is a film about Will Hunting (Matt Damon), and his brilliance. Will is a young man and a janitor – he is also one of the most brilliant minds of all time. The film details his struggle with his brilliance and how to utilize it or not utilize it. He develops a deep and moving relationship with his psychiatrist Sean Maguire (Robin Williams), who delivers some of the best monologues in the history of film. The film one 1 Academy Award, and it went to Robin Williams for Best Supporting Actor.
Other Notables: Titanic, As Good As It Gets, The Full Monty
Jebidiah, check your facts. Good Will Hunting also won for best writing/screenplay. Matt Damon and Affleck acceptance speech is pretty funny. Great pick, couldn't agree more.
